Sampa the Great - AU/NZ Festivals ‘23

Sampa the Great embarked on an Autumn run of festivals around Australia and New Zealand lead by Lost Motel’s Tour Manager/Mom Rosie Potter.

Starting in Tasmania for A Festival Called Panama where the team got to enjoy a rare day off before show to enjoy the natural beauty before moving through to WOMADelaide in Adelaide (One of Sampa’s biggest Australian shows!), WOMAD NZ in New Plymouth (with a moat in front of the stage) and finishing off at Ability Fest in Melbourne.

At the start of the tour there impulse purchases of water bottles with crystals inside helped get sleep schedules back on track and to calm the nervous system when teaching airport staff how to check the tour gear of 22 cases. By the end of it, everyone was dancing backstage and laughing at having an entire 50 seater bus allocated for the 10 person tour party.

Special shout out to Panama Festival for the best hospitality and the awesome visibility and accessibility that Ability Fest brings to the music scene!
