Netsky and Friends – NZ 2022
2022 started very strong for our NZ team – we managed to squeeze in a full run of shows with Netsky & Friends just in the nick of time!
These two shows and five associated sideshows gave us a chance to host international artists we call friends for a smaller run, creating strong relationships and overseeing the finer details of this compact whirlwind tour. The main dates took place at Wharepai Domain, Tauranga on 3rd January & Rutherford Park, Nelson on 5th January.
The planning began many months before, with quarantine spots needing to be secured in the midst of an ever-fickle MIQ lottery. With countless spreadsheets, hasty zoom calls and speedy clicker fingers at the ready, we were lucky enough to confirm all spots needed in order to put on a few epic summer shows. All the legendary artists also put the hard yards in, isolating for a total of 10 days and nervously awaiting their final negative test results in order to fully celebrate Christmas Day!

A stacked line up of Netsky, Hybrid Minds & Tempza, Montell2099, Friction & Linguistics, Holy Goof, Koven & Rene LaVice took to the stage in both Tauranga and Nelson on scorching hot days. The crowds were ready & willing, turning up early to catch an energetic & memorable set from Koven earlier in the day. The Hybrid Minds singalong at sun-down in Nelson is one that will stay in the memory bank forever, as well as seeing Netsky smash his finely-tuned set each night with perfectly timed cues and epic moments. Boris knows his kiwi fans well!
Reuniting with valued staff, suppliers and friends in each location was a great feeling and we all knew how lucky we were to be seeing the shows come to life after many challenges with restrictions, reschedules & the threat of an Omicron outbreak. We are so very thankful to have had the opportunity to put these shows on considering the difficulties we have seen our friends and colleagues face with recent changes to COVID restrictions. We certainly know how lucky we were!
